Covid-19 Initiatives
As the life- threatening Coronavirus pandemic affected lives across the globe, it not only took away lives, but livelihoods too. Driven by the philanthropic vision of Late Shri Yadupati Singhania – Founder Managing Director at JKCement, we have always believed in the philosophy of contributing to society, especially during times of crisis. In wake of this unprecedented crisis, we did our bit towards our collective fight against Covid 19.
Outreach to the Community
- As the pandemic wreaked havoc, we saluted the true heroes of the hour – the Police force; who are working tirelessly to ensure our safety. To show our gratitude and to support their fight against COVID, JKCement donated special, reusable N95 masks worth Rs. 17.5 lacs to the brave warriors of Delhi Police.
- These tough times call for each one of us to come forward and support the community. We are grateful that in our small way, we got the opportunity to help out the patients at the Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram by donating 5 BiPAP Machines.
- We are setting up oxygen plants at our Nimbahera and Panna manufacturing units.
- We have also been working closely with the local authorities and hospitals in and around our areas of operation for arranging for ventilators, oxygen concentrators and other essential medical supplies with support from our channel partners.
- We donated 50,000+ masks to Delhi Police, our frontline heroes and protectors.
- All ~ 2500 employees of JK Cement contributed their one day’s salary to the PM Cares Fund to support the Government’s fight against the pandemic.
- Across our manufacturing units, apart from monetary contributions, we supported the local communities through much needed pertaining to food, shelter, timely payments for casual workers, as well as medical facilities including distribution of PPEs and masks.
- In order to support the painter community during these tough times, we extended our hand to 18,000+ painters enrolled under Uphaar painter loyalty program by encashing their earned points for up to INR 5000 and transferred it directly in their bank accounts. Similarly, under the Shoorveer contractor loyalty program, we reached out to 4000+ contractors and transferred money in their bank accounts.
